Toto Have Embarked on Historic North American Tour

Published on August 10th, 2013

Grammy winning music legends Toto don’t tour North America often. Just ask any of their stateside or provincial fans.

That’s why the band’s announcement of more than a dozen shows in the United States and Canada earlier this summer was so pleasantly surprising.

It is the band’s first such run in nearly a decade, during which time Toto has continued to be a draw for crowds in the tens of thousands in Europe and Asia.

According to a press release, the Toto World Tour 2013 will feature Steve “Luke” Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro on keyboards, drummer Simon Phillips (The Who, Judas Priest, David Gilmour), bassist Nathan East (Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins), and singer Joseph Williams, who sang the hits “Pamela” and “Stop Loving You” on the worldwide platinum release The Seventh One (1988).

The addition of Williams earlier in the decade has earned rave reviews from critics and fans alike who are celebrating his comeback after a long absence from the band.

Toto began their outing in July and will pick up where they left off this Wednesday in Atlanta before landing at such venues as the Theatre at Westbury in New York City and the Chene Park Riverfront Amphitheater in Detroit. Select dates include rock and soul legend Michael McDonald alongside the group.

Earlier in the summer, the band completed an extended run through Europe.
