The Cars Confirm First Live Shows in 20 Years

Published on April 1st, 2011

April 1, 2011 – It’s official, and it’s no April Fools joke. The newly reunited Cars are planning on driving all across the country, no pun intended, to promote their new album Move Like This. Marking the first time the band has played any live show since 1988, this run is significant without question. So far, just 10 dates have been uncovered on the official Cars Facebook page, but more are promised next week.

The tour kicks off in the middle of May on the west coast, twists quickly across the country before wrapping up on the east coast on May 26. Theaters and clubs are the name of the game, which means an even more intimate experience for fans. Could it be a small run for the band to prep for a bigger tour? For a band that’s always been weary of the road, it’s hard to tell.
