You could say Michael Bolton has conquered most of the music world. 53 million records sold, multiple Grammys, countless magazine covers, and even a memorable appearance in a Saturday Night Live music video that enshrined him into today’s pop culture landscape.

But the Connecticut-born singer is not done sharing his soulful voice with the masses. 2014 finds him nearing 40 years in the business while maintaining a touring schedule as heavy as ever.

He’s in the midst of a critically acclaimed run of U.S. shows which brings him to North Bethesda’s classy Music Center at Strathmore on Sunday. After that, he’ll tread west through California before launching an overseas tour in Europe and Asia. Then he’s set to return to his native United States for an early summer series.

At the Strathmore, fans can expect to hear a depth and variety of music only natural for a performer with four decades behind him. Bolton, also a guitarist, will likely break out the string instrument for some additional jamming.

Bolton’s new record, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, will also be in the spotlight. On it, he spins Motown classics into his own versions including a duet with Kelly Rowland on the title track.

He turns 61 today, but all signs point to an ageless performance from the singer.
