Fleetwood Mac may have an epic reunion with former member Christine McVie just around the corner in 2014, but Stevie Nicks is signaling the time for her exit from music may be in sight.
Nicks, speaking in a video interview, said she sees herself continuing her current touring and recording workload for another 6 or 7 years before turning to her next passion – art.
“I draw, and I’m not going to say I’m an artist, because it’s not like I’m Van Gogh or anything,” said Nicks. “I’d really like to start to show [my artwork] to people.”
Critics have praised Nicks in recent years for her ageless appearance in concert and in person. If she follows through on the transition out of music, she will be in her early 70s when she gives her final concert.
Fellow Mac bandmate John McVie is currently recovering from cancer treatment, and the band has teased a possible 2014 World Tour for the summer. A reunion with Christine McVie has already been confirmed by band publicist Liz Rosenberg.
If it materializes, it would mark an uptick in the band’s activity after four years lapsed between a 2009 tour and their 2013 outing.
